Korea photospam part 2

Yep, this is a photospam. because it's 12 AT NIGHT AND I NEED TO WORK TMR AGAIN OMG. Not that i'm stuck in a dead end job or anything. I just want to use the money to buy uni textbooks this year.

Yeah, so here's part 2 of the minute number of photos i picked out from the vast collection of photos taken in Seoul.

CHAI TEA LATTE TO START OFF THE DAY. We had a full day tour itinerary so i wanted a bit of a pick-me-up---k, no i just really like Chai Tea Latte, and there happened to be a Starbucks next to Hotel Ibis Myeongdong.

Jogyesa Temple. There were university entrance exams on that day, so the prayer area was saturated with hopeful parents praying that their kids would do well.

Shot of the Pagoda close to the main hall.

After the short temple visit we hopped onto the tour bus and headed down to Gyeongbokgung. I'm rather baffled that it's written as Gyeongbokgung palace on the ticket because the "Gung" in "Gyeongbokgung" means palace right? Wouldn't "Gyeongbokgung Palace" then be equivalent to "Gyeongbok palace Palace"? IDEK. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. OTL

We had quick spin in Gyeongbokgung and the museum inside palace grounds, then took off to the Ginseng factory, which wasn't as much a factory as it was a shop hawking Ginseng products aggressively.

Completely related photo of myself outside the Ginseng factory selca-ing aggressively.

We then headed for lunch. Samgyetang is the best food ever. There's an entire chicken in the pot ok. AN ENTIRE CHICKEN. And the side dishes are delicious. Kimchi in Singapore tends to be overly sour cause they're pre-packaged and too mature.

Photos of the Korean Folk Village.

It honestly felt like stepping into the set of a Korean period drama. Other than the teeming masses of tourists like ourselves, that is.

Traditional folk dance! One of the guys came out to do a b-boy/traditional dance fusion midway.

I couldn't choose a photo of the man walking the tightrope, so, IMAGINE IT. It'd be something like what Lee Jun Ki did in The King and the Clown.

Someone mentioned that the cat looks like it's about to prey on the donkey/cow in this photo; come to think of it, it does. I'd like to attribute everything to my stellar phototaking skills.

Donned a HanBok, i am such a tourist.

In the evening after the tour was all done we asked to be dropped at Dongdaemun for more shopping. Evidently my Chai Tea Latte and Samgyetang combination was a potent dose of energy.

We headed to Doota first, and had some dinner at the food centre upstairs.

My one and only bowl of Jajjangmyuen (black bean sauce noodles) in Korea. Which is rather sad, considering this is one of my favourite foods in korean cuisine. Technically it's chinese, but i'll call it korean, cause I ATE IT IN KOREA. If i eat KFC in korea it ceases to be Kentucky Fried Chicken, it'll be Korea Fried Chicken. Still KFC.

Had ice-cream in winter cause this stall was visited by ~Shinee~ who were/remain my sister's favourite k-pop idol group of all time omgwthbbqlala. K no, i like them too, to a certain extent.

Then we rolled on back to the Hotel completely knackered, aching legs/back/limbs in tow.

If you ever get a chance to go to Seoul, try to get a room at this hotel. The rates are good (about 190 odd SGD per night?) and the location is central. YOU CAN'T GET ANY CENTRAL-ER THAN MYEONGDONG.

Part 3 and 4 to go!

On another note, I've been transferred to the Bishan branch to work cause someone went on long-term leave. Even after specifically stating NO BISHAN cause it's right across the country from where i stay.

Which is very irritating. While i'm not quite as pleasant looking as Key, this gif honest-to-god mirrors my reaction when my manager told me.

K then, till next time. I'll stop whining now.
