Spring has Sprung

In other parts of the world, it's Autumn or Winter (in some cases, summer all year round), in Australia where down under means everything's upside down, from the time to the seasons, it's Spring.

The weather's laid off the prozac (a little), and it's warm enough to wander around in short-sleeved clothes and shorts without freezing your epidermis right off. Hopefully the weather doesn't get too hot before i leave for Singapore. Though that wouldn't be much of a comparison, cause Melbournian summers are probably just as hot as the weather in Singapore.

When you see scores of students frolicking, er, i mean sitting around on the lawns in university grounds during lunch hour, you know spring has sprung.  (yeah, i like the line spring has sprung. ie makes me think of bunnies leaping around a field of flowers in full bloom)

They obviously love their sunlight. I, on the other hand, slather on sunblock, try to stay indoors, and generally behave like a threatened hermit crab.

Alternatively, throw on a pair of shades, buy 2 more bottles of whitening product, and strut like a boss.

Tried the Mitarashi Dango at Egg, a recently opened japanese casual dining cafe in the basement of Union House. The mitarashi was reasonably tasty, and though the dango were a little squashed, the texture was not too rubbery and easy to eat. Not really worth 4AUD for 2 sticks, but worth a try, nonetheless.

My only gripe is that the mitarashi seemed to have coagulated within the plastic wrapping, basically turning into a jelly-like substance which proved very entertaining, especially since i opened the plastic expecting mitarashi to flow out.
It made for a good laugh though. In picture 1 the dango is still wrapped in plastic, picture 2 is what it looked like after i took the plastic off.

If Mitarashi Dango did have this texture, no matter how unauthentic, it would be much easier, and less messy to eat. Still prefer the proper one though.

What i'd like to have worn today, but i ended up letting my hair down and wearing a lower pair of open toed shoes because i forgot that on mondays i need to walk all the way across campus for lectures. I like wearing heels on school days where i don't have that many classes, cause there isn't that much walking involved. The pathways on campus aren't always flat and i can barely walk without tripping over my own feet.

Other than the fact that stripes are so last-season. In my opinion the outfit could do with more accessories, a chunky bracelet, maybe.

Tip: for gals who aren't stick thin, don't go for large stripes, they tend to make your frame larger and heavier. Thin stripes that go all the way down give the illusion of a longer body, and if it's possible, get a dress that's a-line, the volume at the bottom should balance out any bulk on top.

Better picture of my hair before i let it down.

Once again, no photos of makeup because my lenses aren't here yet. And i'm not in the habit of wearing makeup to school all that often.

In other news, i just downloaded a pile of brushes and fonts for photoshop CS4.

Will try to make my own header when i have the time. Photoshop always makes me feel godlike, ahahha.
